That’s a damn fine looking 350

I don’t own a diesel, but I wish my Excursion was

Wow. I have never seen a truck do that. It’s usually cab corners and wheel wells, the parts that are rhino-lined (which I assume is the reason they are rhinolined).

Is that rust proofing along the bottom?

A green Miata and a green F-350. That’s almost half of my perfect dream garage. It’s missing a green, manual, diesel W123 wagon and a green McLaren F1. And the (green) cash to afford maintenance for the F1.

Welcome to the powerstroke family @ TheD0k_2many toys 2little time this truck will serve you well. Any more info? How many miles are on it, what is the build date (pre/post 1999.5), and if the rust is limited to the areas in the picture. Also, is it a stick? Please let it be a stick. Mine is a stick (1997 F-250), and it’s all our family has ever owned, as well as my dad’s company. They use the 7.3 exclusively in all their shop trucks, save for my dad’s 2011 6.7 powerstroke. All of them have 225k+ miles currently, and still run like a TOP.

I’m always amazed there are people that can afford to keep excursions on the road. Then again, I really do want one haha.

Side note, I heard they use the excursion doors for the velociraptor suv version

6.7. I spent a while trying to find a 7.3 locally in good enough condition that I felt comfortable hauling a trailer long distance with it. The engines were usually in good shape, but the rest of the truck was usually in bad shape. I bought that one after I realized the older 2WD 6.7s were almost as cheap as the nicer 4x4 7.3s, and could be had rust free.

I’m in Michigan too! Winter is going to be interesting - truck has an electronic locking diff, so that with snow tires should be entertaining.

It’s not as bad as people think

I daily drove big blocks from 1970 for a while, so the gas costs aren’t outside my realm of normaliy

It’s one of those things where it’s just not practical for my 30 mile commute, but I do have a friend who loves theirs even though it is no longer legal for the road just used as a farm truck

Not as rusty as our “Barn Truck” 2000 Super. Also, our fuel heater just shat the bed at 250,000 miles (which tripped the ECU breaker on it’s way out) which made for a long walk. Also, the oil pan rotted out of it last Fall, which was a real treat to replace. Other than that, it’s a monster. Drives well, tows 15,000 lbs on a semi regular basis with no worries (despite all the rust).

EDIT: Just noticed that the bed fronts are rotted, which is odd... ours is all wheel-arch and cab corner rot...

I, for now, own a 25 years old diesel vehicle with a tow hook, lots of utility and 200+k miles on the odometer. I won’t own it for long as it’s going to 505turbeaux, it’s built in France and it’s not a truck. Can I still play?

I regularly used my Olds to go 60 miles total a day for a while

If I like driving it and maintenance items are cheap, then I tend not to worry about the mpgs
